Berton McLean, Peer Support & Family Support Consultant
Berton began his remarkable journey in self-awareness as a young man. He grew up in a small town surrounded by unpredictable family members including an alcoholic father. Realizing that he needed to reach out for help, Berton immersed himself in local support programs and gained insight into the root causes of self-destructive behavior . Over the years, he persisted through his personal trauma and gained valuable experience which led to him becoming a guide and facilitator in the following groups: Adult Children of Alcoholics, various addiction and survivor groups, Nicotine Cessation Support and community building liaison with Indigenous peoples of Canada. Berton is a firm believer in the tenets of safety, privacy, listening and trust.
