In-home placements
At Obsidian Support Services, we understand that some youth require a level of care that goes beyond traditional models.
Youth navigating crisis, high-risk behaviours, or vulnerability to exploitation need immediate, consistent, and deeply personalized support.
Our In-Home Placement program provides intensive, one-to-one staffing within a safe, stable home environment, where healing and stabilization can begin.
Who This Program Supports
This service is tailored for youth who may be:
- At risk of or involved in exploitation
- Experiencing acute crisis
- Facing complex emotional and behavioural challenges
We meet each young person with compassion, not judgment, recognizing that behind every behaviour is a story, and behind every story is a need for safety, connection, and understanding.
Dedicated 1:1 Support
Through dedicated one-to-one support, our staff provide continuous supervision, mentorship, and emotional guidance.
This allows for real-time intervention, consistent structure, and the development of a trusting relationship, often something that has been missing in the lives of the youth we support.
Our presence is not just about safety. It is about building connection, restoring trust, and creating a sense of belonging.
Trauma-Informed Approach
Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed, relationship-based care, focusing on stabilization, emotional regulation, and reducing risk factors.
We work closely with each youth to:
- Develop healthier coping strategies
- Strengthen decision-making skills
- Rebuild self-worth and identity
Safe & Supportive Environment
In-home placements provide a protective, nurturing environment that removes youth from harmful influences while maintaining a sense of normalcy and comfort.
We collaborate with families, caregivers, and service providers to ensure a coordinated, wraparound approach that aligns with each youth’s unique needs and goals.
Our Commitment
At its core, this program is about intervening at critical moments and changing trajectories.
We stand beside youth in their most vulnerable times, providing the unwavering support they need to move from crisis to stability, from survival to strength, and from uncertainty to possibility.
